Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making Charleston Wing Fest accessible to everyone.

Our Commitment

Charleston Wing Fest is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to our website.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are actively working to address any remaining gaps.

Measures We Have Taken

  • Skip to main content link for keyboard and screen reader users
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • ARIA labels on all icon-only buttons and social media links
  • Proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) on all pages
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Labeled form fields on the Contact page
  • Keyboard-navigable gallery with accessible lightbox dialog
  • FAQ accordion with proper aria-expanded and aria-controls attributes
  • Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards
  • Responsive design supporting zoom up to 200% without loss of content
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (nav, main, footer) on all pages
  • Mobile navigation with accessible aria-expanded state

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some third-party content and embedded services (such as Eventbrite ticketing) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 standards. We are not responsible for the accessibility of third-party platforms, but we encourage users to contact those services directly with accessibility concerns.

Physical Event Accessibility

The Hanahan Amphitheater is handicap accessible. The accessible entrance is near the handicapped parking area. Follow the paved trail towards the concession area where our information tent is located and you can get checked in there. VIP ticket holders with handicap needs can drive down to the VIP area and park there. If you have specific accessibility needs for the event, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Charleston Wing Fest website. If you experience any accessibility barriers, please let us know:
